Archives

Gosh, months seem to have gone by and as ever, I don’t exactly know how that happened so fast. I struggle to even think what I’ve been doing for all this time. Which is why I have started to make collections of my favourite images each month and publish them on ISSUU. It’s a way of looking back over the month and exercising my editing muscles, and gives me something reasonably coherent to look back on - the latest edition of Archive (as I’ve very unoriginally called these collections) can be found here:

While I’ve been kept busy with food and product photography, as well as being asked to photograph someone’s lovely garden for them, I’ve also been developing some ideas for an exciting new project - more on that soon I hope. I’m at that ‘everything is possible so it’s all a bit overwhelming’ stage that is thrilling but also quite terrifying because I know that at some point I’m going to have to make some hard decisions to narrow things down to a workable project and I hate the idea of closing off avenues! Partly I think because I know it means having to concentrate on one thing, develop that one thing and make something meaningful. My natural inclination is to have a million things on the go and not get too deep with any of them - but I am going to have to fight that urge once again if I want to make meaningful work. Time to dust off the sketch books I think so that I can at least get all the churning ideas out onto paper even if I never use them.
